- The straps are a set of 4.
- They are elasticised so that
they stay taut and close to the tubes when not in use.
- The adjusting buckles are
cam-lock. In an emergency they can be released simply by pulling
back on the ends of the adjusting straps.
- The knees when bent pass up
through the straps. To escape from the thigh straps simply
straighten the legs.
- The straps are effective
enough on some boat models (for example our K30X) and with
skilled paddlers to allow Eskimo rolls. We have not heard
whether this has been done with the K37 (a 2 person boat), but
the old Incept K34 could be rolled.
