Steve and Tawni
Back in the Dark Ages of
rafting, Steve's dad gave him and his young family an old,
worn out, US Air Force raft that was sun faded and had
patches on the patches. It was called "The Orange Peel" and
had to be bailed constantly. They all fell in love with
rivers and rafting and no one else much was ever on the
rivers in those days! Two of their three kids became
seasonal professional river guides while studying for their
engineering degrees at University of Idaho. Weekends on the
river started sometimes as early as February on the Payette
River and ended in Hells Canyon in late October. Ryon,
Steve's eldest, got a graduation present of a first descent
on the upper Mekong River in China near the Himalayas.
Steve and his wife Tawni followed a few years later with
their own first descent credit in Tibet (in a yakskin
coracle!).
Marketing Incept inflatable boats is a natural extension of
their entrepreneurial spirit and living in Idaho. Steve
owns and runs a successful, multi-million dollar marketing
business and Tawni is an independent CPA in "remission", as
Steve likes to say. They are thinking about retiring soon,
but this just might mean more float trips! The fact that
they live in Boise, Idaho, reminds them every day of the
uniqueness and the wonder of the mountains, canyons and
rivers they share with family, friends, and of course Incept
customers.
Steve and Tawni have been attracted to what they see as
